The New Deal In Corruption

"Personal indiscretions aside, Boon Gay firmly believes he is not a corrupt officer," the lawyers of Ng Boon Gay, 46, former director of the Central Narcotics Bureau, said in an emailed response to AFP queries. Well, officially he is charged in the Singapore court for "corruptly" obtaining libidinous "gratification... from one Cecilia Sue Siew Nang" on 4 occasions, specifically 4 instances of oral activity, twice when she was a sales manager with Hitachi Data Systems Pte Ltd and twice when she worked for Oracle Corporation Singapore Pte Ltd. Definition of corrupt notwithstanding, how did the top cop end up at the wrong side of the law?

Perhaps it has to do with the repeal of the original Section 377 in October 2007. Until then it was illegal to participate in "carnal intercourse against the order of nature" between individuals (of all sexes - the law being non-gender specific with its use of the word "whoever"). With a stroke of the legislator's pen, suddenly Singapore women in sales have one more trick in their arsenal of feminine wiles to service their clients.

We could blame Bill Clinton who first cleverly argued that he and Lewinsky were never involved in physical interaction of the procreative kind, the only gymnastics which he would admit as a breach of matrimonial fidelity. Even Hillary must have appreciated the technical adroitness of his perspective of the law.

My secret of success?  I swallow.
We could also blame Zoey Tay, who told the whole wide world she swallows stuff in the Imedeen advertisement. Poor thing. She was the  victim of some unscrupulous copywriter who took advantage of her Chinese educated background, but then many other women may have been easily duped by the double-entendre just as well.

Suddenly, it is cool to blow. Or get down. Whatever.

The slippery slope down the route of corruption takes many forms, and no amount of pecuniary deterrent can thwart its course. But it is pathetic that a family man can be fell so easily by the administrations of amoral individuals giving lip service in the mad pursuit of financial rewards. If cultural attitudes towards once taboo practices are going so quickly from disgust to reverence, the future for our society must surely look bleak.

The use of the "s" word in this post is studiously avoided. If you want salacious details, go read the morning paper.

  1. Whether it is a "s" or sex is not important. The issue here is not about extra marital activities but Top Guns gave favour to certain vendor using Public Money. This is not acceptable. Why should we pay more for his pleasure?

  2. Why specifically mention oral sex in the charges ? Looks like the physial evidence must be overwhelming enough to be included in the charges, no ?

    Considering his position, can't help thinking he may have made enemies powerful enough to set him up in order to get rid of him ?

    Maybe Jack Neo should consider starting a movie with a title like "Sex Not Enough in Singapore" ?

    2. The New Paper says the charge sheet for CNB director Ng specifically mentions "fellatio", while SCDF commissioner Lim is charged with "oral sex". Meaning, one of them could be a muff diver, the other not. No need to be coy with these highly paid civil servants.

  3. I think the defense argument is that;
    the charged person is guilty of marital infidelity
    NOT
    commercial wrongdoing

    To be or not to be;
    guilty or not guilty;
    spit or swallow ...
    decisions, decisions ....

    1. Never ceased to amaze me at this day and age, you still have women who will stand by their man, go through public humiliation and all that jazz. Turn it around, let's see if the husband of those said women will do the same, and you will see what bad deal it would end up. (words has it Cecilia's husband is divorcing her). Then again, with the suicide attempt and new born child, this one might just hang on the thread a little longer. Sex and the Sincity Part 3 continues.

  4. Forbidden fruit tastes sweeter. Looking at the recent sex scandals involving civil servants, they seem to think so. I'm sure they know what they're doing but just can't succumb to the temptation. I have to say the woman involved is reasonably good looking.

    How many guys can resist such "forbidden fruits"? How many guys can turn down the offer of being sucked down there by a good looking chick?

  5. Here's where the new deal in justice looks like.

    Woffles Wu, an elite was wrist-slapped for $1k for lying to police.
    An ordinary Joe Sales Rep jailed for 6 months for doing the same act.
    What is that crab? How about cover-up, obstruction of justice and bribery to an innocent guy to take the fall?!

    Geesh, can our Court of Law also be investigated for corruption of justice!?

    1. I wish there was a system in place, but for the moment there is no corruption of justice until our emperor says so.
      Sadly, the 60% cannot see this.

  6. In this money world created by our government, to get ahead you may need to give head, physically and metaphorically speaking, not only in the corporate world, but in politics as well.

  7. Some people lamented how come most corruption cases seem to involve the IT industry most. I think that is such a sweeping remark.
    While technology becomes more critical in the forefront and backend of most organizations past years, and will continue to be so, it certainly opens up a lot of procurement loop-holes for both buyer-seller sides. Whatever it takes to seal the deal.

    But do you think it doesn't happen in say, the property, hospitality or even Banking industries? Come on, how many private bankers are servicing their wealthy clients just to get their portfolios? It is happening everyday, but do you see our investigators busting them? Too many princelings/princes of the elites? Or how many money-laundering are actually taking place? And who's looking? They are going for the easy prey here, and show us what your real axe can yield before you call the CPIB and our squeky-clean SG govt credible!
    Is that the best you can do?

      If they start with those crooks at the top, the future for our society will surely look bleak. They will not rock the boat..or shall I say, there won't be any political balls in that area. Just take out your popcorn, and watch Jamie Dimon and all that soap drama from US & EU instead.

  9. It's going to be tough for the prosecutor to prove the case unless he has evidence linking the award of contract to the sexual favor.

    Seriously, infedility is not so uncommon nowadays. Sex between unmarried couples is no longer taboo. So what's so big deal about sex between co-workers and business partners?

  10. Its time for Government to review the way they promote its top civil servants. Basing on exam results is only half the story. Only few believe a scholar can do no wrong and these are people of the same kind - scored well in exams. Are we fooling ourselves?

  11. The government should also review the renumeration given to top civil servants. High salaries alone is perhaps inadequate in SINgapore today. More money, with more honey thrown in. MHA will come out with new ideas. What do you think?

    1. I think it is omportant to pay cicil servants (may be not to include army) well since they carryout all the tasks set by government. They are important because regardless of who form the government, there will still be the need for civil servant.

      Ministers probably just talk and talk but cilvil servant really know their work.

      I am astonished at your remark. Are you suggesting that our civil servants aren't being paid enough??? Our civil servants already are amongst the highest paid in the world! And the top ones even get a life-long pension after retirement. Note: the pension scheme for officers administrative service and the intelligence services is still in operation.

    3. They are already overpaid. No money where got honey? Didn't read the sexcapades with the underaged prostitute? Maybe too much money, that's why. And spending 20K on culinary lessons in Paris? Wouldn't surprise me if they patronise our 2 casinos - I personally know some teachers who do. Don't spoil them lah.

    4. The rationale of paying high salary to prevent corruption no longer holds water. It just breed a bunch of greedy people. It will never be enough no matter how much is increased. Why not reduce pay instead? This will wake up their idea and their wives will be happier too - less money for them to look for mistresses.

  12. I think the amendment to Section 377 does not give carte blanche to oral sex between man and woman. It only allows fellatio as a foreplay, and must be consummated by penetration so that "it is not against the order of nature.

    In other words, honey, if you suck, you must also fuck.

    Remember Clinton was smoking pot when he was in Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar.

    His excuse - I smoked, but I didn't inhale.

    So, I suppose his excuse for his tryst with Monica Lewinsky is "I screwed, but I didn't impale.

  13. Zoe Tay's secret of success is not that she swallows, but she didn't!
    As saying goes, a swallow does not a summer made.
    Summer should change to Baby.

    So all that fellatio-ing going around, these people finally get a taste of things to come. Indeed, word-of-mouth is a powerful way to advertise one's blow-job skills.
